Steamed dumplings

Pride of Slovakia- our steamed dumplings :)


Ingredients:


Mevalia flour- 200g

Damin flour- 300g

Fresh yeast- 16g

Salt- 1/2 tea spoon

1 quail egg

Warm water- 350ml

Brown sugar-1 tea spoon

Oil for brushing



1. Make a dough from the ingredients, first of course start by preparing a yeast with 1 tea spoon of sugar and warm water separately. Let the dough ferment for at least 30 minutes.


2. Roll out a dough to a thickness of about 1 cm, cut into same size pieces and place a jam in the middle of each piece.


3. Shape the buns, and then leave them to rest and rise in a warm place for another 15-20 minutes.


4. Steam dumplings for about 10-15 minutes. Do not open the pot during steaming process as dumplings would lose the right texture.



5. After steaming the dumplings, sprinkle with cocoa and cane sugar and melted butter.
