Who we are?
Our names are Janka and Vaneska, and we are originally from Slovakia. I created this blog for my most beautiful PKU daughter Vanesa. Vanes was born in 2016 with a genetic metabolic disease, called phenylketonuria- PKU. I have started working on an e-book previously, but I thought the food blog would be a much better and more interactive option, and could also serve as a help to those who are starting to bake with PKU flour, or as an inspirational place for PKU parents or adults with PKU. Cooking, and especially baking is not easy as of a dough consistency, and therefore I decided to create this blog to upload Vanesa's fav pastries and meals recipes with all steps so when she gets older it's gonna be easier for her to learn baking with a PKU flour. I will do my best to upload PKU recipes on regular basis.
All products used in the blog recipes were found in either local grocery shops, vegan shops or supermarkets. Please feel free to contact us, we are also active on instagram at @pkumagic where we update about our baking activities and new recipes.
